It was my birthday this weekend and I decided it would be nice to have a small gathering at home first, rather than going to a restaurant. Everything came out beautiful and it was cost effective not only for me, but for my friends.
In the two big beverage dispensers I made hard lemonade and sangria. Of course, at every party there need to be classics like crackers, olives, salami, cherry tomatoes, etc. (I opted for Keebler club crackers and Wheat Thins.) You can’t really see in the back left, but I made a whole 9×13 pan of spinach and cheese pie. Also, I was very thankful to my friend who brought me the Veuve Clicquot! In the colorful platter to the left I made deconstructed cheeseburgers. There’s a close up picture below:
Everyone loves sliders, so why not a creative twist?! Deconstructed mini cheeseburgers! I cut up pieces of cheddar cheese, made small meatballs from scratch, and then added a piece of pickle. So cute and so delicious! They were a big hit!
…and who doesn’t like strawberry jello shots?! I put whipped cream on each shot too right before I served a round, but I forgot to take a picture!
I took initiative and made myself cupcakes. For a “healthier” and less traditional cupcake I decided to make banana cupcakes. I would definitely make them again, because they’re not as sweet as traditional cupcakes.
I’m looking forward to the year ahead!
